Sammy Smith, born on June 4, 2004, in Johnston, Iowa, is an American stock car racing driver currently competing full-time in the NASCAR Xfinity Series for JR Motorsports, driving the No. 8 Chevrolet. He made his Xfinity Series debut in 2022 with Joe Gibbs Racing and secured his first victory at Phoenix Raceway in March 2023 at the age of 18, becoming the youngest winner at Phoenix and the fourth youngest in series history.
Before transitioning to the Xfinity Series, Smith achieved significant success in the ARCA Menards Series East, winning consecutive championships in 2021 and 2022. He also clinched the ARCA Menards Series Rookie of the Year award in 2021.
