On March 17, 2025, Deputy Hector Cuevas Jr. tragically lost his life during a pursuit in Victorville. His patrol vehicle collided with a pole, resulting in his untimely death. Deputy Cuevas had served with the SBCSD for six years and is survived by his wife, two children, parents, and siblings.
