Sion James, born on December 4, 2002, in Sugar Hill, Georgia, is a 6-foot-6-inch, 220-pound guard for the Duke Blue Devils men’s basketball team. He began his collegiate career at Tulane University, where he started all 31 games in the 2022-2023 season, averaging 9.7 points, 3.4 assists, and 4.8 rebounds per game.
His performance earned him the American Athletic Conference (AAC) Sportsmanship Award.
In May 2024, James transferred to Duke University. In his first season with the Blue Devils, he has averaged 8.5 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 3.1 assists per game, shooting 51.8% from the field.
As of March 23, 2025, James played his 150th career college game in the second round of the NCAA Tournament against Baylor, contributing to Duke’s 89-66 victory and advancement to the Sweet 16.
