Sion James, born on December 4, 2002, in Sugar Hill, Georgia, is a 6-foot-6-inch, 220-pound guard for the Duke Blue Devils men’s basketball team. He began his collegiate career at Tulane University, where he started all 31 games in the 2022-2023 season, averaging 9.7 points, 3.4 assists, and 4.8 rebounds per game.

His performance earned him the American Athletic Conference (AAC) Sportsmanship Award. ​

In May 2024, James transferred to Duke University. In his first season with the Blue Devils, he has averaged 8.5 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 3.1 assists per game, shooting 51.8% from the field.

As of March 23, 2025, James played his 150th career college game in the second round of the NCAA Tournament against Baylor, contributing to Duke’s 89-66 victory and advancement to the Sweet 16. ​
