Sofia Pernas is an American actress known for her roles in television series such as “The Brave” and “Blood & Treasure.” Born on July 31, 1989, in Fez, Morocco, she moved to the United States at the age of five and grew up in Orange County, California. Her mother is Moroccan, and her father is Spanish; both are multilingual, which influenced Sofia’s ability to speak five languages: Arabic, English, Spanish, French, and German.
Initially aspiring to pursue a career in journalism, Pernas shifted to modeling and acting after being discovered by a modeling agent. She began her acting career with roles in films like “Age of the Dragons” (2011) and “Underground” (2011). She gained prominence with her portrayal of Marisa Sierras on the soap opera “The Young and the Restless” from 2015 to 2017. She also appeared as Catalina in “Jane the Virgin” (2016–2017) and starred as Hannah Rivera in “The Brave” (2017–2018). From 2019 to 2022, she played Lexi Vaziri in “Blood & Treasure.”
In 2021, Pernas married actor Justin Hartley, known for his role in “This Is Us.”
As of 2025, she stars as Elizabeth Smith in NBC’s legal drama “Suits LA,” which premiered in March.
