The South Alabama Jaguars men’s basketball team, representing the University of South Alabama, has had a notable 2024–2025 season under the guidance of seventh-year head coach Richie Riley. They concluded the regular season with a 21–11 overall record and shared the Sun Belt Conference title with James Madison, Troy, and Arkansas State, each posting a 13–5 conference record.
In the Sun Belt Conference tournament held from March 4–10, 2025, at the Pensacola Bay Center in Pensacola, Florida, Troy emerged as the champion, securing an automatic bid to the NCAA tournament.
Despite not winning the tournament, South Alabama’s impressive regular-season performance earned them a spot in the National Invitation Tournament (NIT), marking their first postseason appearance since 2013.
Throughout the season, the Jaguars were led by standout players such as Barry Dunning Jr., who earned All-Conference honors, and Myles Corey, who was recognized on the Third Team All-Conference.
The team’s home games are played at the Mitchell Center in Mobile, Alabama, a facility with a seating capacity of 10,041.
Looking ahead, the Jaguars will aim to build on their recent successes in the upcoming 2025–2026 season, striving to secure another postseason berth and continue their competitive presence in college basketball.
