splashdown time today

NASA astronauts Sunita Williams and Butch Wilmore, along with NASA astronaut Nick Hague and Russian cosmonaut Aleksandr Gorbunov, safely returned to Earth on March 18, 2025, after an extended mission aboard the International Space Station (ISS).

Their SpaceX Crew Dragon capsule, named Freedom, splashed down off the coast of Florida at 5:57 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time (EDT), which corresponds to 3:27 a.m. Indian Standard Time (IST) on March 19, 2025.

The crew’s return was initially delayed due to technical issues with Boeing’s Starliner spacecraft, leading to an extended stay of over nine months on the ISS.

Upon splashdown, the astronauts were retrieved safely and underwent medical evaluations.
