St. John’s University men’s basketball team, known as the Red Storm, has had a remarkable season under the leadership of Coach Rick Pitino. They clinched their first outright Big East regular-season title in 40 years with an 18-2 conference record.
In the Big East Tournament semifinals on March 14, 2025, St. John’s defeated Marquette 79-63. Zuby Ejiofor led the team with a career-high 33 points, setting a Big East Tournament record for the school. The Red Storm will face Creighton in the championship game, aiming for their first Big East Tournament title since 2000.
