Stephen Collins, born on October 1, 1947, in Des Moines, Iowa, is a former American actor known for his extensive television and film career. He gained prominence for his role as Reverend Eric Camden in the television series “7th Heaven,” which aired from 1996 to 2007.

Before this, Collins appeared as Captain Willard Decker in “Star Trek: The Motion Picture” (1979) and starred as Jake Cutter in the TV series “Tales of the Gold Monkey.”

In October 2014, Collins became the subject of public scrutiny when an audio recording surfaced in which he admitted to inappropriate sexual conduct with three female minors between 1973 and 1994. This revelation led to widespread condemnation and significant repercussions in his personal and professional life.

More recently, former co-stars from “7th Heaven” addressed Collins’ actions in the debut episode of their podcast, “Catching Up with the Camdens.” Beverley Mitchell, David Gallagher, and Mackenzie Rosman condemned all forms of abuse, clarified that they had no inappropriate experiences with Collins, and emphasized their support for victims.

Additionally, a new episode of “Hollywood Demons,” titled “Stephen Collins, America’s Dad,” is scheduled to air on Investigation Discovery on March 24, 2025. This episode delves into the allegations surrounding Collins and their impact on his career and personal life.
