Steve Bannon is an American media executive, political strategist, and former investment banker, born on November 27, 1953, in Norfolk, Virginia. He served as the White House’s chief strategist during the first seven months of President Donald Trump’s administration in 2017. Before entering politics, Bannon was the executive chairman of Breitbart News, a far-right news and opinion website.

In recent developments, Bannon has been involved in legal controversies. In February 2025, he pleaded guilty to a state felony charge of defrauding donors in a fundraising campaign for a U.S.–Mexico border wall and was sentenced to a three-year conditional discharge.

Additionally, he was convicted in July 2022 for contempt of Congress after defying a subpoena from the House committee investigating the January 6 Capitol riot, resulting in a four-month prison sentence.

Politically, Bannon continues to influence conservative circles. He has been involved in efforts to amend the U.S. Constitution to allow President Trump to run for a third term in 2028, though such an amendment would require significant legislative action.

Furthermore, Bannon has appeared on California Governor Gavin Newsom’s podcast, sparking discussions about bridging political divides.
