Steve Forbes is an American publishing executive and politician, best known as the Chairman and Editor-in-Chief of Forbes Media. Born on July 18, 1947, in Morristown, New Jersey, he is the son of Malcolm S. Forbes and the grandson of the publication’s founder, B.C. Forbes.
Forbes pursued higher education at Princeton University, where he graduated cum laude in 1970 with an A.B. in history. During his time at Princeton, he co-founded Business Today, which has grown to become the world’s largest student-run magazine.
In the political arena, Forbes sought the Republican Party’s presidential nomination twice, in 1996 and 2000, advocating for a flat tax system and other economic reforms.
He also served as Chairman of the Board for International Broadcasting in 1985 and was reappointed in 1993.
Beyond his editorial role, Forbes engages with global leaders through his podcast, “What’s Ahead,” where he discusses current events and future trends.
