Steven Ashworth is a senior guard for the Creighton Bluejays men’s basketball team. Born in Alpine, Utah, he stands 6 feet tall and weighs 175 pounds. Ashworth transferred to Creighton from Utah State University in 2023, where he had earned first-team All-Mountain West honors after averaging 16.2 points and 4.5 assists per game during the 2022-23 season.

In his first season with Creighton (2023-24), Ashworth averaged 11.7 points, 4.7 assists, and 3.8 rebounds per game. He received the BIG EAST’s Sportsmanship Award, becoming Creighton’s first honoree since Mitch Ballock in 2021.

During the 2024-25 season, Ashworth has been a standout performer. As of March 16, 2025, he averages 16.8 points, 7.0 assists, and 4.2 rebounds per game, with a field goal percentage of 40.6%. Notably, he leads the nation in free throw shooting, having made 63 of 65 attempts.

Off the court, Ashworth balances his athletic commitments with family life. He married his wife, Peyton, three years ago, and they have a son named Tommy Jay. In January 2025, he delivered an impressive performance against Butler, recording 22 points, 12 rebounds, and nine assists at Hinkle Fieldhouse, a place of personal significance as he served a Mormon mission there in 2019-20.

Ashworth’s leadership and consistent contributions have been instrumental in Creighton’s success this season, solidifying his role as a key player on the team.​
