As of March 23, 2025, a wildfire known as the Table Rock Fire is actively burning in Table Rock State Park, located in Pickens County, South Carolina. The fire ignited on Friday, March 21, and has since expanded to over 35 acres. Firefighting efforts involve personnel from the South Carolina Forestry Commission (SCFC), The Nature Conservancy, Greenville Water, the USDA Forest Service, and local fire departments. Aerial support includes aircraft conducting water drops to assist in containment.

Voluntary evacuations have been advised for residents living near Table Rock Mountain, particularly on the following roads:​

  • Country Creek Drive
  • Weaver Creek Trail​
  • Katijah Lane​
  • Lynne Way
  • Dry Lake Road​
  • Curtis Way​
  • Shepherd Springs Drive​
  • Gnome Hill Lane​

These measures are precautionary, as residents are not currently in immediate danger, but should remain vigilant. ​

All trails within Table Rock State Park are closed until further notice to facilitate firefighting operations and ensure public safety. ​

The fire’s origin has been traced to two negligent hikers, who have been identified, and charges are pending. Deputies searching for a missing person in the area narrowly escaped the advancing flames but were uninjured. ​
