Tanner Hayes Bibee, born on March 5, 1999, in Mission Viejo, California, is a professional baseball pitcher for the Cleveland Guardians in Major League Baseball (MLB). He bats and throws right-handed. Bibee attended Mission Viejo High School and later pitched for California State University, Fullerton. He was selected by the Cleveland Guardians in the fifth round of the 2021 MLB Draft.
Since making his MLB debut on April 26, 2023, Bibee has established himself as a key player for the Guardians. In his debut season, he achieved a 10-4 record with a 2.98 ERA and 141 strikeouts over 142 innings. The following year, he posted a 12-8 record with a 3.47 ERA and 187 strikeouts across 173 2/3 innings.
Recognizing his contributions, the Guardians signed Bibee to a five-year contract extension on March 22, 2025. The deal, reportedly worth a minimum of $48 million, includes a club option for the 2030 season, potentially bringing the total value to $68 million.
