Tanner Toolson is a 6-foot-5 guard currently playing for the Utah Valley University (UVU) Wolverines men’s basketball team. Born in Vancouver, Washington, he transferred to UVU from Brigham Young University (BYU) in May 2023.

The Toolson family has a rich basketball legacy at UVU. Tanner’s father, Andy Toolson, had a notable career at BYU and played professionally, including two seasons with the Utah Jazz. His brother, Conner Toolson, and cousins Ryan and Jake Toolson also played for the Wolverines.

In the 2024-2025 season, Tanner Toolson averaged 12.6 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 1.8 assists per game, shooting 43.8% from the field and 35.0% from three-point range. He played a pivotal role in UVU’s successful run in the Western Athletic Conference (WAC) tournament.

In the semifinals against Seattle U, he scored 18 points, contributing significantly to the team’s advancement to the championship game. Despite his career-high 28-point effort in the championship loss to Grand Canyon, the Wolverines secured a spot in the National Invitation Tournament (NIT).
