”The Beginning After the End” is a popular American web novel series written by TurtleMe and illustrated by Fuyuki23. The story follows King Grey, a powerful ruler who, after a mysterious death, is reincarnated as Arthur Leywin in a magical world called Dicathen. Retaining the wisdom of his past life, Arthur navigates his new existence, mastering magic and seeking to protect his loved ones.
The series began serialization as a web novel in January 2017 and was adapted into a webtoon in July 2018. As of March 2025, the webtoon has released seven volumes, with the latest published on March 25, 2025. The English adaptation is available through Yen Press.
An anime adaptation produced by Studio A-Cat is scheduled to premiere on April 2, 2025, on Fuji TV’s +Ultra programming block. The opening theme, “KINGSBLOOD” by KALA, and the ending theme, “Mahiru no Tsuki” (Midday Moon) by Seiza, have been revealed. The first episode was screened early for overseas audiences on March 30, 2025.
