Tobias Harris is an American professional basketball player currently playing for the Detroit Pistons in the NBA. Born on July 15, 1992, in Islip, New York, he stands 6 feet 8 inches tall and plays as a power forward or small forward.

Early Life and Education

Harris attended Half Hollow Hills High School West in Dix Hills, New York, where he earned the Mr. New York Basketball award in 2010. He also participated in the McDonald’s All-American Game that year. He played one season of college basketball for the Tennessee Volunteers, averaging 15.3 points and 7.3 rebounds per game. Following his freshman year, he declared for the NBA draft.

Professional Career

Harris was selected 19th overall in the 2011 NBA Draft by the Charlotte Bobcats and was subsequently traded to the Milwaukee Bucks. Throughout his career, he has played for several teams, including the Orlando Magic, Detroit Pistons, Los Angeles Clippers, and Philadelphia 76ers. In July 2024, he signed a two-year, $52 million contract to return to the Detroit Pistons.
