Travis Perry, born on April 20, 2005, in Lexington, Kentucky, is a freshman guard for the University of Kentucky Wildcats basketball team. Standing 6 feet 1 inch tall and weighing 188 pounds, Perry hails from Eddyville, Kentucky, and attended Lyon County High School.
In high school, Perry set a state record by surpassing 5,000 career points, finishing with 5,381, making him Kentucky’s all-time leading scorer. He also ranks second nationally for career points. His high school accolades include being named Kentucky Mr. Basketball in 2024 and earning MVP honors at the KHSAA Sweet Sixteen state tournament.
Perry committed to the University of Kentucky in November 2023, choosing the Wildcats over offers from programs like Alabama, Cincinnati, Ole Miss, and Western Kentucky. In his freshman year (2024-2025), he has averaged 2.7 points, 0.8 rebounds, and 0.6 assists per game, with a field goal percentage of 31.3%.
Recently, Perry experienced an injury scare during the SEC Tournament quarterfinals against Alabama, injuring his shooting hand. However, he confirmed that the injury was not severe and has since played in the NCAA Tournament, including the Wildcats’ opener against Troy.
Off the court, Perry has engaged in promotional activities, such as collaborating on a signature coffee roast. He announced a partnership featuring the “Travis Perry Select Coffee Roast,” expressing excitement about the collaboration.
