tucker devries

Tucker DeVries is an American college basketball player currently playing as a guard/forward for the West Virginia Mountaineers in the Big 12 Conference. Born on December 7, 2002, in Omaha, Nebraska, he moved to Waukee, Iowa, during high school, where he played for Waukee High School. In his senior year, he averaged 18.5 points, 6.6 rebounds, 5.6 assists, and 2.9 steals per game, earning the title of Iowa Mr. Basketball.

He committed to Drake University, where he played under his father, Darian DeVries. Over three seasons at Drake, Tucker earned multiple honors, including two Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) Player of the Year awards and two MVC tournament MVPs. In 2024, after his father became the head coach at West Virginia, Tucker transferred to join him. However, his season was cut short in February 2025 due to a shoulder injury that required surgery.

Following his father’s recent appointment as the head coach at Indiana University, reports suggest that Tucker DeVries is expected to transfer to Indiana to continue his college basketball career under his father’s guidance.
