In the series opener on March 27, Nolan Arenado homered, and Sonny Gray delivered five solid innings, leading the Cardinals to a 5-3 win. The following day, Lars Nootbaar’s two hits and two RBIs, along with Erick Fedde’s pitching, helped secure a 5-1 victory.
This sweep marks the Cardinals’ first 3-0 start since 2006, a season in which they went on to win the World Series.
