Tyler Randal “Ty” Gibbs, born on October 4, 2002, in Charlotte, North Carolina, is an American professional stock car racing driver and co-owner of Joe Gibbs Racing (JGR). He competes full-time in the NASCAR Cup Series, driving the No. 54 Toyota Camry for JGR.

Gibbs began his racing career in go-karts on both asphalt and dirt tracks in Mooresville, North Carolina. In 2019, he won the IceBreaker 125 Late Model Stock race at Myrtle Beach Speedway, driving the No. 18 for Nelson Motorsports.

He gained prominence by winning the 2021 ARCA Menards Series championship and the 2022 NASCAR Xfinity Series championship. In 2022, Gibbs made his NASCAR Cup Series debut, filling in for the injured Kurt Busch at Pocono Raceway, where he finished 16th. He continued to substitute for Busch in subsequent races, achieving his first top-10 finish at Michigan International Speedway.

In 2023, Gibbs transitioned to a full-time Cup Series driver for Joe Gibbs Racing, piloting the No. 54 car. Despite missing the playoffs, he secured four top-five finishes and earned the title of NASCAR Cup Series Rookie of the Year.

The 2024 season saw Gibbs achieving his first career pole positions at Charlotte Motor Speedway and Pocono Raceway. His consistent performance throughout the season enabled him to qualify for the playoffs; however, he was eliminated after the first round, ultimately finishing 15th in the championship standings.

Beyond his driving duties, Gibbs expanded his role within Joe Gibbs Racing. In October 2024, it was announced that he would co-own the No. 54 car, which will be driven by Taylor Gray in the 2025 NASCAR Xfinity Series season.

Gibbs is the grandson of Joe Gibbs, the former NFL coach and current owner of Joe Gibbs Racing. His father, Coy Gibbs, was also involved in NASCAR as a driver and team executive.

As of March 11, 2025, Gibbs continues to compete in the NASCAR Cup Series, aiming to secure his first series victory and build upon his early career successes.
