Tyler Conklin is a professional American football tight end currently playing for the Los Angeles Chargers in the NFL. Born on July 30, 1995, in Chesterfield, Michigan, he stands 6 feet 3 inches tall and weighs 248 pounds.

Early Life and Education

Conklin attended L’Anse Creuse High School North in Macomb Township, Michigan, where he excelled in both football and basketball. He began his collegiate career playing basketball at Northwood University before transferring to Central Michigan University to pursue football.

At Central Michigan, he walked on to the football team, eventually earning a scholarship and starting as tight end. Over his college career, he accumulated 83 receptions for 1,159 yards and 11 touchdowns.

Professional Career

Conklin was selected by the Minnesota Vikings in the fifth round (157th overall) of the 2018 NFL Draft. He played four seasons with the Vikings, recording 93 receptions for 1,016 yards and four touchdowns. ​

In March 2022, Conklin signed a three-year, $21 million contract with the New York Jets. Over his three seasons with the Jets, he played in 50 games, starting 43, and achieved career highs of 61 receptions and 621 receiving yards in 2023, along with four touchdowns.

On March 21, 2025, Conklin signed a one-year, $4.5 million contract with the Los Angeles Chargers. He is expected to serve as a downfield threat alongside veteran Will Dissly, who specializes in run-blocking.
