​The University of Houston (UH) Cougars men’s basketball team is experiencing a standout season in the 2024–25 NCAA Division I basketball campaign. Under the guidance of 11th-year head coach Kelvin Sampson, the Cougars have achieved a 32–4 overall record, with a 19–1 mark in Big 12 Conference play, securing their second consecutive outright Big 12 regular-season championship.

Recent Performance: In the Big 12 tournament, UH clinched the championship by defeating Texas Tech and Texas, earning the tournament title. Advancing to the NCAA tournament, the Cougars secured a 78-40 victory over SIU Edwardsville on March 20, 2025, and a 81-76 win against Gonzaga on March 22, 2025.

Upcoming Game: Looking ahead, UH is set to face the Purdue Boilermakers on March 28, 2025, at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana. ​

  • L.J. Cryer (Guard): Leads the team with an average of 15.2 points per game and a field goal percentage of 41.5%.​
  • Milos Uzan (Guard): Averaging 11.6 points and 4.3 assists per game.
