The team has secured a record 11 NCAA Division I National Championships, including a remarkable four consecutive titles from 2013 to 2016.

In their 2024–25 season, the Huskies finished with a 31–3 record, going undefeated in Big East Conference play. They entered the NCAA tournament as the No. 2 seed and demonstrated their dominance in the first round by defeating No. 15 seed Arkansas State 103-34.

Azzi Fudd led the team with 27 points, while freshman Sarah Strong added 20 points, 12 rebounds, five assists, and five blocked shots in her NCAA Tournament debut.

Senior guard Paige Bueckers, who has faced significant knee injuries in the past, is making her final NCAA Tournament appearance with the Huskies. She aims to secure the elusive national championship that has thus far eluded her in her college career.

Bueckers recently tied Kelly Faris for 10th on UConn’s all-time assist list with 545, joining Diana Taurasi as one of only two players in UConn’s top 10 for both points and assists.
