Vivica A. Fox, born on July 30, 1964, in South Bend, Indiana, is a distinguished American actress and producer. She began her career with appearances on “Soul Train” (1982–1983) and roles in daytime soap operas like “Days of Our Lives” (1988) and “Generations” (1989–1992). Her breakout in film came with significant roles in “Independence Day” and “Set It Off” in 1996.

Throughout her career, Fox has starred in numerous films, including “Booty Call” (1997), “Soul Food” (1997), “Why Do Fools Fall in Love” (1998), and “Kill Bill” (2003), where she portrayed Vernita Green. She also co-starred in the Lifetime series “Missing” (2003–2006), earning an NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Actress in a Drama Series.

In addition to acting, Fox has ventured into directing and producing. In 2023, she made her directorial debut with the biographical crime film “First Lady of BMF: The Tonesa Welch Story,” focusing on the “First Lady” of the Black Mafia Family in Detroit.
